How pipeline engagements run
Step-by-step view of StackChannel Consulting CI/CD assessments, advisory work, and implementation slices from first inquiry to handover.
This page describes how programming consulting engagements for CI/CD pipelines typically unfold. Your project may differ; the written agreement always prevails.
1. Inquiry and fit check
You submit the contact form or email us. We ask about version control hosting, primary CI platform, deployment environments, and any compliance constraints (for example, segregation of duties). If the work is outside pipeline engineering, we say so early.
2. Scoping conversation
A short call or structured email exchange clarifies deliverables: assessment-only, advisory hours, or implementation slice. We outline assumptions (access to non-production runners, sample pipelines, anonymized logs) and identify stakeholders on your side.
3. Written proposal
You receive a proposal listing scope, timeline bands, fees in ZAR where applicable, and payment milestones. Nothing is scheduled until you accept in writing. Fees are not published on this site because repository and environment complexity varies.
4. Delivery
Assessments end with a findings pack and read-out session. Advisory sessions produce meeting notes and action items you own. Implementation work lands in your repositories with pull requests, pipeline YAML, and handover notes for your team.
5. Closure
We confirm completion against the statement of work. Optional follow-on advisory blocks can be proposed; there is no automatic renewal.
